Chicago, IL (December, 2009) -- Lynda Wood of Davis Imperial Cleaners was one of just 125 local businesswomen (and the only dry cleaner) chosen to be part of the first edition of Crave Chicago: The Urban Girl’s Manifesto. Published this fall, Crave is both a guidebook to the most innovative women-owned local businesses, as well as a directory of the best boutiques, spas, cafes, stylists, fitness studios and more. The goal? To celebrate and support local businesses owned by women, while offering readers a chance to discover new options for shopping, services and dining.

To compile the group of women highlighted in the book, Crave editor and publisher Melody Biringer and her team did extensive research on the best most successful female entrepreneurs in Chicago—both established, well-connected women and ones just starting an exciting local company.
