DAVIS IMPERIAL CLEANERS PRESIDENT RICK WOOD EARNS THREE CERTIFICATIONS AND INDUSTRY RECOGNITION AS ACERTIFIED GARMENT CARE PROFESSIONAL!

Davis Imperial Cleaners, proud member of Leading Cleaners Internationale has a professional edge that only a few elite U.S dry cleaners can claim-an individual that has earned all three professional certifications from the International Fabricare Institute.  With this accomplishment comes recognition as a Certified Garment Care Professional, a title less than 50 individuals can claim in the United States.

Rick Wood, CED, CPD, CPW, has earned IFI’s Certified Environmental Drycleaner (CED), Certified Professional Drycleaner (CPD), and Certified Professional Wetcleaner (CPW) designations.  He became certified by mastering a comprehensive body of knowledge in critical areas of professional cleaning, and then passing three rigorous examinations that verified his expertise in those areas.
Rick Wood has over 35 years of experience in fabricare at Davis Imperial Cleaners.   He and his spouse and partner Lynda Wood specialize in the cleaning and restoring of designer and haute couture garments and textiles.

Certified dry cleaners can provide their clients with the following:

  • Proven knowledge regarding environmental laws and other federal regulatory requirements, proper waste handling, occupational safety and health, and the safe operation of dry cleaning equipment.
  • Verified expertise in the most current cleaning methods for all fibers and fabrics.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the high levels of client service.

Consumers who are served by certified dry cleaners should recognize the certification process as a sign that their cleaner has made a commitment to providing their clients with quality fabricare and service.

Under IFI’s program, cleaners need to re-certify every few years to retain their designation.  Consequently, the program demands that certified cleaners update their knowledge and expertise as cleaning technologies change and apparel manufacturers introduce garments with new fabrications.

IFI, based in Silver Spring, Maryland, is the premier trade association for the nation’s professional dry cleaners, wet cleaners, and launderers.
